It helps secrete endorphins, which put the body into a state of full relaxation, enabling its natural healing capabilities. Latest studies show that the needle tip has a negative electric charge, which helps induce an electron flow from the positively charged, inflamed tissues near the insertion site. The needles also trigger better communication of different body parts by creating inductive pathways within the myofascial network. Regular acupuncture treatments are highly preventive in avoiding health issues and very helpful in ensuring a quality aging process. I teach and demonstrate simple qigong routines to address our patients’ needs and enhance our treatments.

</details>

<details>
What should I expect from the initial treatment?

You must complete the intake form and sign the consent upon arrival. The consultation will last 30-45 minutes, during which we will inquire about your medical history, lifestyle, and habits to diagnose the pattern and identify the possible root cause effectively. It will be followed by your first treatment, which usually lasts around 1 hour and involves palpation of specific body parts and the insertion of needles at related points.

</details>

<details>
How many treatments do I need?

In most cases, you can typically expect to see positive results with your condition after two or three treatments. For chronic conditions, the overall treatment process can last several months. With acute disorders, it is usually twice weekly for two weeks and then weekly or biweekly follow-up treatments, depending on the prognosis. Generally, a treatment cycle consists of 8-10 treatments. For individuals with severe chronic conditions, treatment may need to be extended to 3 cycles, with 1-month breaks between cycles.

</details>

<details>
Is acupuncture painful?

The sensation of the insertion is not any different than a mosquito bite since the filiform acupuncture needles are even finer than hair. You may experience some warmth, tingling, or an electric-like sensation, which is desired to deliver neurological impulses to the brain and ensure the treatment’s efficacy. It may involve as few as four needle insertions per treatment and as many as 25-30, depending on the patient’s condition.

</details>

<details>
What should I wear for my treatment?

Please bring a pair of shorts for your convenience, since thighs are of utmost importance for our style of acupuncture.
