Beyond Acupuncture and Herbs

Prevention is the cure

Mission

Educate, support, and let go

Developing a horizontal relationship between the practitioner and the patient is essential for observing positive and permanent results.
Tailor-made daily exercise routines to address the patient’s condition by combining yoga poses, breathing techniques, qi gong sequences, and cardio workouts are a great way to start with the educational aspect of the treatments. In that regard, it is vital to demonstrate and modify the exercises according to the patient’s condition. Recommendations on an everyday diet and eating habits will always follow. Lifestyle, dietary habits, emotional imbalances, and environmental factors constitute the etiology behind all sicknesses. All those factors will be shared with the patient to introduce smart and practical changes for immediate and permanent recovery.

At Beyond Acupuncture and Herbs, practices involve and promote an ancient massage technique called Tui Na which even predates acupuncture and is known to be the father of all contemporary manual therapy styles such as physiotherapy, osteopathy, massage therapy, etc. It means “shake and vibrate” in Chinese and has over 60 manipulation techniques to create therapeutical vibes across the whole body, which highly stimulate the nervous system. It is very effective to initiate the healing response. I use fire cupping to form negative suction over the interstitial space, which is the gap between the skin and the muscle, to promote better lymphatic flow and invigorate blood circulation. Moxa is a healing modality and the oldest kind of heat therapy that I often use where the practitioner burns the meticulously processed form of a plant called Artemisia Vulgaris or mugwort either in cones or small wooden boxes over on the patient’s body to relieve the adverse effects of tapped cold which is a prevalent issue as a result of the climatic conditions as in Canada. It is finally acupuncture that complements all the other modalities listed above. It helps the energy run smoothly and evenly in the body and removes stagnation, thus ensuring the proper functioning of the internal organs. It aims to restore the body’s functions and does not tend to replace them. The soma(body) can heal itself with some support if given a chance with adequate changes, especially in diet and lifestyle.
Depending on the condition of the patients, it may take just a few treatments to restore the balance; however, in severe chronic cases, it may need to extend over time with multiple treatments.
